Ekundayo - The Herbalist

At Escape Studios, I was tasked to create a character and a creature, both living together in the same world of an established art style. As a fan of stylised art, I chose to recreate the art style of Wayfinder, a video game made by Airship Syndicate.

Ekundayo (A Yoruba name, which means sorrow becomes joy) is an ambitious Herbalist with a huge curiosity about plants, nature, biology and magic. His potions and remedies are highly sought after and essential when in battle with other Wayfinders.

He’s grumpy, rebellious, mischievous and takes great pleasure in learning, discovering new things and doing experiments, sometimes on himself or to make new remedies and potions. He made a formula to enhance his physical strength, speed, endurance and his senses, which he’ll never share with you. He uses his magic to increase the size of his pet Gecko, Osan (a Yoruba name, which means Orange).
